Dannia Hakki, Co-Founder & Principal
Dannia Dannia is MoKi Media’s niche hospitality publicist, specializing in the hospitality, entertainment, fashion and beauty industries. As Co-founder and Principal, Dannia spearheads public relations strategies for clients in Washington, D.C., New York and Los Angeles, including Moet-Hennessy USA, Diageo USA, United Colors of Benetton, GANT Menswear, DC Vote and Mari Vanna restaurants. She has executed national media initiatives for bicoastal events with The Discovery Channel; The Creative Coalition, a celebrity nonprofit organization; Newsweek & The Daily Beast Hero Summit; and The Washington Humane Society’s annual Fashion for Paws runway show. Dannia consistently finds innovative ways to engage her target audiences and the media. Her 2012 campaign for the Sri Lankan Office of Tourism included a week-long international press trip for select tier-one travel writers to the island nation.
A graduate of the George Washington University with New York PR work experience, Dannia collaborated with and developed high-profile accounts such as Jeffrey Chodorow’s Kobe Club New York, Kobe Club Miami and Kobe Beach Club in the Hamptons; The Empire Hotel Rooftop; Southern Hospitality restaurant; and legendary Manhattan nightclubs 1OAK and Tenjune. Her resume also includes work with Epic Records artists Sean Kingston, Natasha Bedingfield and Brandy; networks such as NBC and MySpace; and fashion brands such as Armani Exchange, French Connection and Mulberry. A DC native, Dannia’s reputation as a seasoned media professional earned her a coveted spot on Washington Life’s “The Young & The Guest” list two years running, as well as a profile in The Hill newspaper as one of “Washington’s Women of PR”. With an acute ability to tap a variety of print, broadcast and online sources, Dannia can facilitate seamless connections between her clients, the media and the public.

Sherry Moeller, Co-Founder & Principal
Sherry leads MoKi Media’s design, lifestyle and luxury brand accounts by developing public relations plans tailored to the specific needs of clients. Specialties include directing and managing media outreach and placement, implementing social media campaigns, organizing and executing special events, and writing and editing content including press releases and blogs. For the last three years, Sherry has led the DC Design House’s PR efforts, increasing attendance and helping to raise more than $1 million for Children’s National Medical Center over the last six years. The DC Design House recently won the Washington Metro Chapter of ASID’s 2013 Potomac Award, which honors an organization that has made creative and intellectual contributions to local society.
Prior to launching MoKi Media in 2009, Sherry was editor in chief of Capitol File magazine, the premier lifestyle publication based in Washington DC and owned by Niche Media in NYC, which produces numerous city-centric glossy publications across the country. In this role, Sherry developed relationships with high-profile celebrities, politicians, CEOs, sports figures, socialites and White House officials, securing exclusive covers and helping to organize the White House Correspondents’ Dinner After Party that Capitol File hosts each year.
Sherry, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park, has more than 15 years experience in local and national publication and media industries and a roster of nationwide contacts. An award-winning journalist, Sherry was also editorial director at Washington Spaces magazine, owned by GWPI, a former wholly-owned subsidiary of The Washington Post and now Amazon, and real estate/homes editor at The Gazette, a Post Newsweek Company.

Account ExecutiveMaha Maha joined MoKi Media in 2009 as the agency’s first intern. She officially joined the team in 2012 and currently serves as an Account Executive. Maha graduated from George Mason University and majored in Communication PR with a minor in Business Administration. Born and raised in the DC-area, she has a strong understanding of the local market – from the events she spearheads to the media outlets she follows.
